what it is

the future is ours to design.

most of us want the same things. to be trusted, to be safe, to be treated fairly. the tech that pulled us apart can bring us back together too, but only if you can see how it works.

so we are building the version where you write the rules, and your ai has to follow them. a rule you can read. a record you can check. running on hardware you own, if you want it to.

proof, not promises

trust you can check, not just trust you are asked to feel.

write a rule. ask it to break the rule. watch exactly what happens, and why. the rules run in code, before the model acts. if something would break a rule, it simply does not happen. try it right here.

your rule, checked before anything runs.

"never send my contacts anywhere."

who's behind it

two people, and a small team of ai agents, building in the open.

ag and fs started openroar in vienna, with no grand pedigree. just the sense that ai should work for you, not the other way round. some of the team are people. some are ai agents, each with a name, a role, and a soul file you can read. we always say which. this page, and most of what charlie says, is written with them too, honest work, not finished work.

a loft window looking over vienna's rooftops and a cathedral spire
vienna, europe
a loft window looking over the savannah, an acacia tree and a lion
the savannah, our namesake

vienna is where two people decided to try. the roar and the winged lions in our name are simple: a lion does not ask permission to be heard, and neither should you. we published our charter before we had earned the right to be held to it, so you can hold us to it from day one.

this needs you

it only happens with you in it.

openroar is not a product you consume. it is a community you build. two people and a handful of agents are not enough, by design. we need people who use it, break it on purpose, and tell us what is wrong. you'll probably find something broken, here on the site or when you install openroar. that's expected, not something we're hiding. tell us and we fix it faster.

we do not want your money. not yet. we are setting up a nonprofit in austria, so nothing you give can ever be quietly bought. it is in progress, not registered yet. until then, the most valuable thing you can give is your eyes, your honesty, and one friend who would care.

leave your email and we will bring you in as things open up. a login, a build, a way to help, whichever comes first. no noise before then.
